Cookie Policy
Last updated August 2026
This policy explains what cookies are, which ones may be set while you browse whiskeydowndiner.com, and how to control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Cookies let a site remember things between page views — a preference you set, or the fact that a video has already loaded once. Similar technologies such as local storage and pixels do comparable jobs, and we mean those too wherever this policy says “cookies.”
Cookies we set
We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies so it can tell a returning visit from a new
one and work out which pages are useful. These are named _ga and
_ga_<id>, and they expire after two years.
That is the only cookie we set. We run no advertising network and no cross-site profiling, and we do not sell or share what the analytics collect.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on every website by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or simply by blocking cookies for this site in your browser.
Cookies set by others
Parts of this site are supplied by other companies. When that content loads, those companies may set cookies from their own domains. We do not control those cookies and cannot read them.
| Source | Why it may set cookies |
|---|---|
| Elfsight | Delivers the reviews and Instagram feed, and may store settings needed to render and cache that content. |
| Google Maps | Loads the interactive maps on our location pages and may store map and preference data. |
| Google Fonts | Serves our typefaces. Font files are requested from Google’s servers. |
| Google Analytics | Counts visits and page views. Sets the _ga cookies described above. |
| Cloudflare | Our host may set a cookie to manage traffic, performance and security. |
| Toast, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok | These are outbound links. Cookies are set once you arrive on their sites, under their policies. |
Controlling cookies
Every major browser lets you see which cookies are stored, delete them, and block them either entirely or per site. Look under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking cookies from the services above may stop the reviews feed, the Instagram feed or the maps from displaying, though the rest of the site will work normally.
Most browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed industry standard for responding to it, so we do not currently act on it. To stop the analytics cookies, use the opt-out add-on linked above or block cookies for this site.
Changes to this policy
If the services we use change, we will update this page and revise the date at the top.
